How to make rice in 18 minutes or less. Super easy!

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Kenia and if you're new here, I'll let you know real quick that I loooove short posts. Don't get me wrong, I love very informative posts too, but I know that you and I are both pretty busy, and I love to keep things short sweet and to the point.

I have 6 kids and they keep me busy and on the hunt for new ideas and recipes to try all the time.

You might be a newbie at cooking, and rice is a real simple and easy dish to make as a side dish to many recipes.

So this is probably one of my shortest posts, but you're here to find out how to make rice in 18 minutes or less.

It actually takes about 15 minutes, but just in case of interruptions 18 minutes is a safe number :)
Ok.. enough of the chit chat!!

STEP#1- How to make rice in 18 minutes or less.

Step 1: Heat up your favorite oil. I use coconut oil. About 2 teaspoons. Set my gas burner on high. Watch it because coconut oil burns fast!! Believe me I've done it a million times, coughing and all!!

STEP#2- How to make rice in 18 minutes or less.

Throw in 2 cups of raw white rice in pot and stir for about 30 seconds and let it fry just a little.

STEP#3- How to make rice in 18 minutes or less.

Throw in double your rice amount. If you use 2 cups of rice. Use 3 cups of water.

STEP#4- How to make rice in 18 minutes or less. Super easy!

Let the water/rice come to a rolling boil.(about 2 minutes) Stirring occasionally, so it won't stick to the bottom. Add about 1-2 teaspoons of salt or leave it unsalted if you like low sodium dinners and if you are adding it to seasoned meat.

STEP#5- How to make rice in 18 minutes or less. Super easy!

Once its boiled stir it one more time, set your timer for 10 minutes and cover. Put your heat on low or a very faint blaze if you're doing a gas stove. It is a very tricky deal but the less heat you have the better especially if its your first time and its gas. It will burn quickly if  you have the heat too high... Again... I've done it a million times!! :D

So there you are... Pretty simple!
