> Line shelves of medicine chest with strips of blotting paper. It will absorb spills. Pick a color to match bathroom decor.
> Put your next new shower curtain in front of the old one on the same hooks. The old one will get the wetting and soaping and the other will stay new-looking.
> Keep plastic curtains soft and pliable by adding drops of mineral oil to warm water when rinsing.
> To keep cloth shower curtains from mildewing in damp weather, soak them in a solution of salt water before hanging them. . . . Use baking soda to remove a small area of mildew on a shower curtain. For more extensive mildew stains, wash the curtain in hot suds, then rub stains with a lemon. Allow to dry in the sun.
