Nutritional Yeast Benefits. How Can Nutritional Yeast Benefit You? |
So, you want to know how nutritional yeast can benefit you?
First of all, as a mother of 6 children, I am always looking for ingredients to add to our every day meals to make it more nutritious without altering the taste too much.

Nutritional yeast is that ingredient that I love and I use it almost every day in our eggs.
Here's a quick video I did. On my FUN FOOD FACTS FOR FAMILIES FACEBOOK PAGE
I like to let you know right off the bat, that I like to keep things short and to the point. Occasionally, I'll write a long post, but most of the time it's short :)Enjoy!
Here we go!
Nutritional Yeast Benefits
Nutritional yeast is different than regular yeast and one of the great things about it is that it is actually a superfood! Yes!! When I see superfood in anything, I'm all over it. Nutritional yeast is deactivated yeast.
- One thing to note is that it is often high in vitamin B-12( look for this when purchasing your nutritional yeast)
- It is low in fat
- High in protein
- It's sugar free
- Gluten free
- It's a superfood
If you're a mom on the lookout for something to add to your diet Nutritional Yeast is it.

Nutritional Yeast Benefits broken down
#1- Vitamin B-12
As a mother any vitamins are good for your body. You need your B vitamins like nobody's business right? :D
- Vitamin B-12 is essential for the brain
- Helps with anemia.
- Keeps the body's blood and nerve cells very healthy.
#2- High in Protein
As a mother of 6 children and the benefits of protein in the body, you really need protein more than anything. It gives you strength through the day. It is the building block to your muscles and helps your blood sugar to not crash. In any meal that I make for my family, I always identify my protein and make sure that that is higher than any sugar in the meal.
#3- Low in fat
Although some fat is good for you, Nutritional Yeast is low in fat and if you are watching your fat content in your body, this is the perfect addition to your meal.
#4- Low in Sugar
Sugar is something that as a mom I take extreme note of. My husband and I think that sugar is a mind altering drug!! IT IS!!! It is also very addicting. When you add nutritional yeast to your meals, (which you can even add it in cookies for your children and they won't even know) you can be assured that your sugar intake will be at a low.
#5- Gluten Free
If you are gluten intolerant or are trying to stay gluten free for your children, nutritional yeast is perfect for your gluten free lifestyle.
Lastly, I wanted to curate some recipes for you so that you could try out some recipes with nutritonal yeast in it! I've already shared with you my scrambled eggs with nutritional yeast video, but here are a few more from some other bloggers.
I've also added them to my NUTRIONAL YEAST BOARD
