Super Easy Oyster Cracker Recipe for the win!

Super easy oyster cracker recipe for the win!

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my site. I'm Kenia a wife of 18 years to the same loving guy, a mother of 6 kids. 15, 13,12,9,5,3. My goal is to honor and glorify God in every area of my life!

I love blogs,I love writing, but I also love to get to the point!

Oyster crackers are addicting, but I'm not sure they are as addicting as the ones I made.. I only made a single batch( makes about 2 cups) to try it out on the kids...

Put it in a little snack bag and away they goπŸ˜‚

I'll be making more... They are so good warm too :)

If you have flour salt baking powder and a little elbow grease, this will be a cinch to make!

Here is the link to the recipe that I got it from.

TIme saving tips when folding clothes!

Till next time.

Time saving steps for making laundry folding time quick and maybe even fun

Time saving steps for making laundry folding time quick and maybe even fun.

To make things even more streamlined and neater, use baskets for each category and or people.
If for some reason, something unexpected happens, your bed can stay nice and neat and you can put your baskets in a safe place and get to it when time permits.

  • Separate clothes by category( not people) ex. Shirts, pants, underwear, towels, sheets.Set a 5 minute timer.Your goal is to beat it.
  • Fold each category in 5 minute increments.
  • As you're folding each category ( and you have multiple children)you can put in a basket and or put it away. Set a 5 minute timer, then move on to the next category
  • For hang up clothes, seperate those first when you get to that category. Make your goal to finish that in 1 minute.( shouldn't take that long)
  • Proceed to fold other items. Once you're done with the non-hang up clothes 😜, count the items and grab that many hangers right away.
  • Set your timer for 5 minutes, hang it, lay it down on the bed if you don't have a laundry room, then hang it in the appropriate places at once.
  • For socks( if you have multiple sizes) separate by colors first( if you have two colors) then find the matches and put away. This can be done in 5 minutes or less.( this can be a fun game for littles).

Side notes and tips.
*** Your goal is to get every step done in 5 minutes or less. You can easily get a small load of laundry done in 30 minutes or less.
If you have older children work with you it can take 10 minutes.I've done large loads in 5-7 minutes before with the help of everyone. If you have time left over on your timer,go to the next category or take a breather.

** If you are behind on laundry and you know its a busy day, but you still want to do something, do a small load of laundry or only do a category that you're short on.

***To make more room in your drawer, and to be able to see everything that you have, stack your clothes vertically instead of laying them down..

3 Simple Mom Tips You'll Want To Use Right Now-"Easy Time Saving Mom Tips"- Pt.1

When it come to saving time tips and things that will save time in the home, I'm all over it.

This is Part 1 of Simple Mom Tips You'll Want To Use Right Now- Easy Time Saving Mom Tips

I want to preface this post with a little intro to myself and my family.  My name is Kenia and I am a wife and mother. My hubby and I have 6 children, and if saving time is not on our list of things to do, we have failed!! 😏

Seriously though, saving time and tips to making life simpler is something I am always on the search for or coming up with a way to make life easier.

I like to keep my posts short, if you're not familiar with me, just because I know as a mother time is of the essence.  I want you to get what you came for in a short and sweet and to the point sort of way. (with a little humor on the side)

So here we go...

Tip #1- 3 Simple Mom Tips You'll Want To Use Right Now-"Easy Time Saving Mom Tips"- Pt.1

#1 Always have a blanket near your dryer.

Let me explain.. I think you'll like this.

If you're like me, then even though laundry is a must in the busy mom life, you may not like to do it and feels like its a pain.

Without fail, no matter how many laundry baskets I have, I usually don't have one when I need it of course.  Here's where your blanket comes in  handy.

Grab your blanket and unfold it and start putting your dry clean clothes in the blanket.  Grab your ends together of your blanket and haul it into the bedroom or couch or wherever you fold your clothes. :D

Super easy.... and you don't have to break your back trying to pick up the basket, that is no doubt overfull haha!

Tip #2- 3 Simple Mom Tips You'll Want To Use Right Now-"Easy Time Saving Mom Tips"- Pt.1

#2 Always keep a big mixing bowl on your counter when you're cooking. ALWAYS!

Here's the simple reason.

Raise your hand, if you go to the trash can a million times to throw something away so that you can have room to continue cutting or trimming something. YESSS!! That's me, unless I remember to get my bowl.

You start cutting veggies, fruit, or meat and you are running to the trash can(that is if you don't have one of those fancy trash disposers on your island) ya.. I don't either.. ;)

Keep that bowl on your counter and when you're done fixing that favorite recipe, you'll only have to go to the trash can once!

This saves so much time!

Tip #3- 3 Simple Mom Tips You'll Want To Use Right Now-"Easy Time Saving Mom Tips"- Pt.1

This tip is so fun! I think it is anyways... My hope is that you'll love it too.

One quick rabbit trail though before I let you go....

Are there more time saving mom tips?  Absolutely yes!! My goal is to continue adding to this for you moms out there, but I don't want to give it to you all at once right now....

As a mom, I can get overwhelmed with so much information online and my hope is that with little bite size tips in short posts, you can get something done right now! and not wait for more infromation and go into information overload.  What happens when you get overloaded?  Right! Nothing gets done. This is why this is part 1.

With these 3 simple Mom tips, I believe you can implement them right away and get something done.

Back to our last tip for today

#3 - Keep a small measuring cup or bowl of water in the sink with one to two drops of lemon oil in it.

So what's my reason for this? you may be asking...

If you are a wash by hand type of mom(less children) or a dishwasher type of mom(a ton... like me lol)  the utensils sometimes can be a pain, especially if you can't get to them right away or you're waiting for the dishwasher to fill up to justify a run.

Simply drop the utensil throughout the day into that bowl and half the work will be done, by the time you get to washing.

The lemon oil will help dissolve the food, make your utensils shiny, and your kitchen will smell great, plus help lift your mood. WIN WIN!!

I'm looking forward to sharing Part 2 real soon!

WANT TO KNOW HOW NUTRITIONAL YEAST CAN BENEFIT YOU?-NUTRITIONAL YEAST BENEFITS

Nutritional yeast benefits
Nutritional Yeast Benefits. How Can Nutritional Yeast Benefit You?

So, you want to know how nutritional yeast can benefit you?

First of all, as a mother of 6 children, I am always looking for ingredients to add to our every day meals to make it more nutritious without altering the taste too much.

Disclaimer: This post might contain affiliate links.  This is at no extra cost to you and only helps fund my family and our food obsession :D

Nutritional yeast is that ingredient that I love and I use it almost every day in our eggs.
Here's a quick video I did.  On my FUN FOOD FACTS FOR FAMILIES FACEBOOK PAGE

I like to let you know right off the bat, that I like to keep things short and to the point. Occasionally, I'll write a long post, but most of the time it's short :)Enjoy!

Here we go!

Nutritional Yeast Benefits

Nutritional yeast is different than regular yeast and one of the great things about it is that it is actually a superfood!  Yes!! When I see superfood in anything, I'm all over it.  Nutritional yeast is deactivated yeast.

  • One thing to note is that it is often high in vitamin B-12( look for this when purchasing your nutritional yeast)
  • It is low in fat
  • High in protein
  • It's sugar free
  • Gluten free
  • It's a superfood
If you're a mom on the lookout for something to add to your diet Nutritional Yeast is it.

Here are some ideas on where you can add nutritional yeast to. If you want a head start go ahead and grab the same one that I use, it is very inexpensive too  GRAB NUTRITIONAL YEAST HERE

Nutritional Yeast Benefits broken down

#1- Vitamin B-12
As a mother any vitamins are good for your body.  You need your B vitamins like nobody's business right? :D
  • Vitamin B-12 is essential for the brain
  • Helps with anemia.
  • Keeps the body's blood and nerve cells very healthy.
#2- High in Protein

As a mother of 6 children and the benefits of protein in the body, you really need protein more than anything.  It gives you strength through the day. It is the building block to your muscles and helps your blood sugar to not crash.  In any meal that I make for my family, I always identify my protein and make sure that that is higher than any sugar in the meal.

#3- Low in fat

Although some fat is good for you, Nutritional Yeast is low in fat and if you are watching your fat content in your body, this is the perfect addition to your meal.

#4- Low in Sugar

Sugar is something that as a mom I take extreme note of.  My husband and I think that sugar is a mind altering drug!! IT IS!!! It is also very addicting.  When you add nutritional yeast  to your meals, (which you can even add it in cookies for your children and they won't even know) you can be assured that your sugar intake will be at a low.

#5- Gluten Free

If you are gluten intolerant or are trying to stay gluten free for your children, nutritional yeast is perfect for your gluten free lifestyle.

Lastly, I wanted to curate some recipes for you so that you could try out some recipes with nutritonal yeast in it! I've already shared with you my scrambled eggs  with nutritional yeast video, but here are a few more from some other bloggers.

I've also added them to my NUTRIONAL YEAST BOARD

Easy Toddler Approved Home Made Mac 'n Cheese Recipe

Toddler Approved Home Made Mac’n Cheese

via GIPHY
Ingredients needed.
3 cups of elbow macaroni cook per package instructions.
Pinch of himalayan sea salt in water while boiling
10 oz of aldi version of Velveeta block cheese ( Velveeta cheese if you prefer)
2 oz of butter ½ stick of butter
1 cup of Almond milk

Hey there! I hope I caught your attention!

Toddler Approved added to anything, will make me drop laundry and sit down and listen watch or read anything.

This toddler approved home made mac’n cheese is just that!

As a mother of a couple of toddlers/pre-k anything that has toddler approved on it, is a WIN! Let's face it though, I have 4 other children and if all of them love this.... I've won the best mom medal of the year. πŸ’•πŸ˜‚

You know what I mean…. If your toddler doesn’t like it, you might as well have a big fat LOSER sign on your forehead. My kids love mac’n cheese, but I don’t like to buy it from the store.

I'm going to keep this post short like most of mine , because let's face it, either you or I have or will have one or two children hanging on us, asking for us or asking for something to eat.

What you'll need for this Toddler approved homemade mac'n cheese 'll need from the store.

By the way, Aldi is our favorite store and the prices usually, can't be beat.

(If you haven't seen my Aldi board yet, check it out and one of my most viewed posts about my Aldi board….you're gonna love it!)

New here?
These recipes are for you. I think you'll love them and these are great toddler smoothies as well.

Alright…

Ingredients needed.

3 cups of elbow macaroni cook per package instructions.

Pinch of himalayan sea salt in water while boiling

10 oz of aldi cheese

2 oz of butter ½ stick of butter

1 cup of Almond milk

Directions:
Heat stove and add milk, cheese, and butter together in pot. Heat till everything is melted. Make sure it doesn’t burn.

Once everything is melted, add the noodles and mix. Here's what it should look like.

I added 1 teaspoon of Himalayan salt at the end along with some black pepper.  If you like extra saltiness you can always add more; however, it turned out perfectly.

We added hot dogs to it and was delicious. Perfect toddler approved meal, and complete family meal if you ask me :D

Home made mac’n cheese is great because you have control of what is in your food!!
Hope you enjoy this!

If you want to change some things here are my suggestions:

** If you like extra cheesiness you can add about 4 oz more of the cheese and ½ cup more of almond milk.
We're lactose intolerant so the less cheese for us the better. Which is why I substitute almond milk for regular milk.

*** Want to make your Mac’n Cheese a super food? Add nutritional yeast to it!! This is the exact NUTRITIONAL YEAST we buy

I add it to pretty much everything. It adds a rich taste to it plus its a Super food and does so much good for your body.
